INTRODUCTION
The training modules introduce safe use of chemicals at workplaces, present classification systems for the labelling and transport of dangerous goods, allow the reading and use of chemical safety data sheet. We could find thousands of chemicals in today’s workplaces. These chemicals may have the capacity to cause health problems, from minor skin irritations to serious injuries or diseases or even cause death. Lack of knowledge in handling of chemicals may caused major damages to human, property and also environment.
OBJECTIVES
At the end of the program, participant should be able to: -
Differentiate chemical hazard and other types of hazards.
Classification chemical labelling as per CLASS Regulation 2013
Familiar with the different hazard classifications for chemicals
Understand and able to study & use Safety data sheet (SDS)
Understand the health effects cause by different type of chemicals.
Understand better on appropriate PPE required when handle chemicals
Understanding on chemical handling and spillage control
