INTRODUCTION

This training provides candidates with information & instruction to manage health and safety risk in warehouse operations. On top of that this training will guide participant on safe manual handling techniques which, if used correctly, may help prevent injury.  In overall, the training module will provide participants with a high level of understanding of laws and best practices of safety and health to meet best industry practices.

OBJECTIVES

At the end of training, the participants should be able to: 

• Define the safety and health hazard at warehouse

• List out ergonomic risk factor related to warehouse environment

• Define safe manual handling techniques in daily warehouse operation

• Define element in having safe racking system and stacking activities

• Identify hazard related to warehouse traffic and its mitigation

2. Identification of existing and potential hazards in warehouses

3. Application of risk assessment and control techniques at the warehouse

4. The importance of warehouse housekeeping

5. Hazardous materials storage safely

6. The chronic effects of wrong manual handling

7. Manual handling and lifting materials regarding ergonomic techniques

8. Safe operation of forklift, hand truck and powered pallet truck
